1. Who we are
Vitality is operated by Rushing Technologies LLC ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at hello@vitallity.org.
2. What we collect
Account information: Email address and password (hashed) when you create an account.
Health & fitness data: Steps, sleep, active minutes, calories, distance, heart rate, nutrition logs, mood check-ins, and habit completions — collected from Apple HealthKit (with your permission) or entered manually. This data is stored on your device and synced to our servers only to power your dashboard and AI insights.
AI coaching messages: When you use the AI Coach, your messages and relevant health context are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. These are not used to train AI models.
Usage data: Anonymized crash reports and feature usage to improve the app.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and improve the Vitality service
- To generate personalized AI coaching insights
- To send you optional wellness reminders (with your permission)
- To process subscription payments via the Apple App Store
- To respond to your support requests
We do not sell your data. We do not use your health data for advertising.
4. Apple HealthKit
Vitality requests access to Apple HealthKit to read steps, sleep, activity, and other health metrics. This data is used solely to power your in-app dashboard and coaching. We do not share HealthKit data with third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes, in compliance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines.
5. AI Coach data handling
AI coaching responses are generated by Anthropic's Claude API. Your health context sent to the AI is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not store your coaching conversation history on our servers beyond 30 days. AI responses are for informational and motivational purposes only — see our Terms of Use for important disclaimers.
6. Data sharing
We share your data only with:
- Anthropic — AI responses (health context only, not sold)
- Apple — subscription and in-app purchase processing
- Our hosting providers — to operate the service infrastructure
We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
7. Data security
All data is transmitted over TLS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We follow industry-standard security practices. No system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
8. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen, which will permanently remove all your data from our servers within 30 days.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Email us at hello@vitallity.org to exercise any of these rights.
10. Children
Vitality is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
